The Northwood Learning Center is an exciting education program for preschool children ages two through pre-kindergarten that runs September through May.

We use the world-class A Beka curriculum that ensures our children are well-prepared for kindergarten. Many Keller ISD teachers have said, “We can tell the kids who come from the Northwood Learning Center from the other children the very first day of school.”

We have structured two-, three-, and four-day programs that include center time, music, arts and crafts, chapel, STEM, Spanish instruction, social interaction, and creative movement and play!

Classes run Monday through Thursday. Class times are from 9am until 2pm. Timely arrival and pick-up is important for both the children and their teachers.

Our classes are small, with 10/2 ratio for two years, 12/2 ratio for three years and 16/2 ratio for pre-kindergarten. These are excellent ratios and will provide your child with one-on-one interaction and instruction with the teacher as well as the kind of love and nurturing expected in a Christian environment.

Current immunization records and an enrollment form complete with all emergency numbers are required for the first day of school.

We want all of your students to be healthy. Do not bring your child to school if they have: vomiting, diarrhea and/or fever in the last 24 hours; any symptom of a childhood disease (i.e. scarlet fever, chickenpox, pink eye); or any kind of skin infection due to boils, ringworm, impetigo, head lice, etc.

A school-wide notice will be posted should your child be exposed to a communicable disease.

Please be sure to label all your child’s personal belongings! This includes water bottles, blankets, sweaters, coats, cups, lunch boxes, and backpacks.

We have an open-door policy, which means you are always welcome to visit and observe your child in class. However, we ask that this be done in such a way as not to disturb the function of the classroom.

Redirection and positive reinforcement are our primary method of discipline. However, if a child persists in unacceptable behavior, he or she may be placed in time-out for a brief time. Parents will be apprised of any situation requiring discipline.

Lunches should be sized appropriately for the child. Finger foods are great. Sandwiches, peeled fruit, cheeses, and clear fruit juices are preferred foods. No red juice, please! Candy should not be sent. Please, do not send anything that requires heating. Should anyone in your child’s class have a severe food allergy, we will notify you.
