Pastoral Care & Counseling

Here at Northwood Church we truly care for your spiritual, physical, and mental well-being. When we step into God’s story for our lives that doesn’t mean that we will never experience dark seasons of hurt, grief, trauma, or crisis. If you are experiencing or needing to process physical, mental, or spiritual difficulties we hope that you will allow our church to come alongside you and serve you and your family during this time.

Here are the ways we can live as family when life gets hard:

We want to be able to provide you with Christ-centered support to individuals and families experiencing difficult situations such as hospitalizations, bereavement, spiritual trials, and other challenging life seasons. If you would need support or encouragement from one of our pastors please send an email to

For those in need of a listening ear while they go through loss, divorce, spiritual crises, and other challenging life trials we highly encourage you to connect with our Stephen Ministry. Through caring relationships, Stephen Ministers lovingly walk with those who are hurting and are in need of support during difficult circumstances. This is a confidential ministry, and those receiving care can be sure that their identity and the conversations conducted within the caring relationship will remain private.

Stephen Ministers are not professional counselors. They are ordinary men and women who have received 50 hours of initial training in important caring ministry skills such as listening, assertiveness, confidentiality, crisis theory, intervention, and the use of prayer and the Bible. If you are interested in being encouraged by a Stephen Minister, or being trained as one, contact us at
