DISCIPLESHIP TRACK
DISCIPLESHIP TRACK
WHAT IS THE DISCIPLESHIP TRACK?
At Northwood Church, we believe disciples of Christ, living out their callings, are how God transforms the world. No matter where you are in your journey of following Jesus, the experiences offered under Discipleship Track will equip you to step into God’s story for your life through Biblical teachings, hands-on experiences, and practical tools. We can’t wait for you to join us!
Right now, the Discipleship Track consists of Kingdom DNA, Domains, and Diversity. For those that are new to the Discipleship Track, we recommend getting started with Kingdom DNA.
Kingdom DNA is a 9-week interactive experience to equip you to live the life God has for you. DNA determines life and the characteristics of that life. There are four strands in all DNA, and how those four strands are arranged and ordered determine everything! Kingdom DNA is made up of the four lenses through which we view life and ministry – Kingdom, Disciple, Society, and Church. This DNA challenges not only the way we live as Christ followers, but our understanding of God and His Kingdom. Jesus ushered in the Kingdom of God, and then commanded us to seek it first. Through the study of scripture, the practice of serving, and the experience of community, Kingdom DNA will capture what it truly means to live and love like Jesus.
DOMAINS is a 9-week experience designed to equip and empower Northwood members to live out their calling as a disciple of Christ. Jesus commissioned us to go and make disciples of all nations, and we want to give you the tools to put that into action. This call is not just for church staff or preachers, this is for all followers of Jesus. No matter which season of life you are in, you are invited to be a part of God’s transformative work by making a global and local impact. Through this hands-on curriculum, we will not only discover the theological and biblical foundation for serving in our domains, but we will connect our jobs, skills, and passions with the story God has for our lives. Join us as we partner with God in what He is doing in the world!
Diversity in a 9-week experience that challenges Northwood members to align their lives with God’s vision for a diverse family of God. In John 13:35, Jesus taught, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” In this third and final stop on the Discipleship Track, we recognize that diversity is important to the Church because it is important to God. We pursue diversity, not for diversity’s sake, but for love’s sake – so that the world may know we are followers of Jesus. Walking through four sections – multi-generational, multi-ethnic, multi-ability, and multi-faith – we will see how our call as ministers of reconciliation includes reflecting the heart of God and His desire for our unity.
