Freedom City Ft Worth
Do you wish you could help others but aren’t sure what to do? With NorthWood’s Freedom City texting campaign, you are aware of the needs as they arise.
Freedom City meets the immediate physical needs of individuals and families in our city. Typically they are related to one of our local ministry areas through the schools or apartment complexes that NorthWood partners with. When a person in need contacts Freedom City, we send a brief text describing the need. Those who can help respond. The needs get broadcasted on Mondays only about two times a month on average.
From our Freedom City Fort Worth Facebook page, a Freedom City recipient, Cher, shares how she was impacted through this ministry:
“I would like to share how Freedom City was able to help provide for my daughter and I. Without my connection to the church body I would have never known about Freedom City and what they were capable of doing through one person sending a brief text message regarding my situation at the time. I did not have enough food to last through the week, my electricity was due to be disconnected anytime, and my daughters 6th birthday was a week away. What happen next was amazing!! Within hours, project coordinators were touching base with me telling me that the blessings were pouring in. God had provided this amazing organization with people that went above and beyond to make sure I had food in my cabinets for months, gift cards to help with gas, and my electricity was able to stay on. They also made sure my daughter had a birthday she would cherish forever. All I can say is Freedom City is such a blessing. I am proud to say I have subscribed to the group and now receive the text alerts of others who are need.”
